What Screviq collects
Nothing. Screviq collects no personal information, and there is no server for it to collect anything to. It has no sign-up, no account, no profile, no advertising identifier, no analytics SDK and no crash-reporting SDK.
The app opens no network connection during a scan. Capturing a photo, detecting the screen in it, correcting the perspective, enhancing it and saving it all work with the device in airplane mode.
Screviq never uploads your photos or your scans. There is no cloud sync, backup service or remote processing of any kind.
What Screviq stores on your device
Your scans stay in storage that belongs to this app, which other apps cannot read. For each scan, Screviq keeps:
- the corrected image and a small thumbnail for the history list;
- the untouched camera photo only while “Keep original photos” is turned on in Settings, which is off by default;
- a local database row with a generated ID, date and time, pixel size, file size, saved format, applied enhancement, and local file locations; and
- your Settings choices: theme, default format, image quality and whether originals are kept.
What Screviq does not read
A photograph carries more than pixels. Screviq reads exactly one piece of extra information: the orientation tag, which says which way up the camera was held. It does not read, use or store the location where a photo was taken, camera model, file timestamp or other metadata.
On Android, Screviq deliberately does not request the permission that would grant access to a photo’s location. The system removes that data before Screviq sees an imported photo.
Permissions, and why each one is asked for
Screviq asks for permission at the moment it needs it, never on first launch, and explains why before the system prompt appears. Declining one disables only the part that needs it.
- Camera: to take a photo of a display. The preview is not recorded and nothing is written until you press the shutter.
- Photo library: to import one image you choose. Screviq does not browse your library.
- Saving to Photos: only when you tap Save, to write that corrected image to your camera roll.
- Older Android versions: storage access expresses the same import and save actions.
Third-party services
There are none inside Screviq. The app contains no advertising network, analytics or attribution SDK, crash reporter, social login or payment processor. Its image-processing libraries run entirely on your device and communicate with nothing.
When something leaves your device
Only when you ask for it, and only in these places:
- Share: the image is handed to your device’s system share sheet. What happens next is governed by the app you choose.
- Save to Photos: the corrected image is written to your camera roll, which may be backed up by your phone’s cloud settings.
- Send Feedback: your mail app opens a message that you can read and edit before sending. Device and app version details are visible in the draft and can be removed. No image is attached.
- Rate Screviq: the app opens the app store in your browser or store app.
Selling and sharing
Screviq does not sell personal information, share it for advertising, or disclose it to anyone. It holds none to sell, share or disclose.
How your scans are kept safe
Your scans live in this app’s private storage, which the operating system isolates from other apps. A screen lock and device encryption protect a scan in the same way they protect the rest of your photos. Anyone who can unlock your phone can open Screviq.
Deleting your data, and your rights over it
Deleting a scan from Recent Scans removes its image, thumbnail, stored original and database row from the device. Uninstalling Screviq removes everything the app has kept.
Screviq holds no personal data on a server, so there is nothing for us to look up, export, correct or erase. A copy you have saved to Photos or sent to another app is outside Screviq and must be deleted there.
Children
Screviq is not directed at children under 13 and collects no information from anyone, of any age.
